When I buy curtains, how many do I get?
All curtains are sold in pairs unless stated otherwise. Door curtains are all sold individually.
What is Gather?
Every pair of curtains regardless of the heading will need a certain amount of gather. Without gather the curtain would just be a flat piece of material across the window. Two times the width of the pole or track is usually the recommended amount of gather. This allows the curtains to be gathered up when hung.
What is a Pencil Pleat Heading?
Pencil pleat curtains are a more pleated curtain and can bring a distinguished look to a room.
What is a Eyelet Heading?
Eyelet curtain headings hung on a pole can bring a modern feel to a room. With wide folds able to show off both fabric and design, eyelet curtains can bring a clean and contemporary look to most settings.
How do I measure for Curtains?
Width (all headings)
Measure the whole width of your pole or track (excluding the finial). If you don’t have one in place yet, measure the width of your window recess and add 30 cm.
Drop (pencil pleat)?
Measure the distance from the top of the track or if you have a pole, the bottom of the ornamental ring (the ring on the pole) to 1 cm above the floor (2/3 cm if you have not yet had carpet fitted but intend to) or 4 cm below the window sill.
Measure the distance from the top of the pole to 1 cm above the floor (2/3 cm if you have not yet had carpet fitted but intend to) or 4 cm below the window sill. With eyelets it is important to ensure that you have at least 3 cm clearance above your pole but ‘do not add this to the length’.

What is Flannelette?
Flannelette is a thick, yet lightweight material that is extremely durable – you can run it through the washer and dryer lots of times before it will show any sign of wear. It is made out of loosely spun cotton and is a breathable fabric.
Flannelette is also known as brushed cotton. The brushing process creates a soft pile on the sheet, which holds the warmth in well and creates that soft, cozy feel! Flannelette sheets are available in a variety of colors and sizes and are a popular choice for baby’s cots. If you are looking for an inexpensive option, flannelette is a good choice.
What is Polyester Cotton?
Polyester is a man-made fabric that stays wrinkle free – which is perfect if you don’t like ironing sheets! It keeps its shape too so can withstand lots of washes and tumble drying whilst maintaining quality. The polyester cotton mix helps keep the natural soft feel and cool qualities of cotton, while bringing the easy care qualities of polyester. The polyester cotton mix also makes them a cost effective option against 100% cotton sheets.
What is Microfiber?
Microfiber is fine strands of polyester. It has the easy care characteristics of polyester while it is softer to touch due to the finer fibers.
Microfiber sheets are lightweight, and ideal for people with allergies, as allergens don’t get trapped in the fibers. This is a man-made fabric with very fine fibers that is easy cleaned.
What is Egyptian Cotton?
Egyptian Cotton is traditionally an extremely high quality fabric. The cotton is grown in humid conditions along the banks of the River Nile, which helps long cotton fibers to grow. It’s these long cotton fibers that make Egyptian Cotton unique, soft and long-lasting.
100% Cotton sheets are a natural product and so are ideal if you want to avoid man-made fabrics. Cotton bed linen is soft and smooth, providing a better quality fabric than a polyester cotton mix. Pure cotton sheets are also much cooler and while they are still very durable they do require more ironing than polyester cotton sheets! Compared to Egyptian Cotton sheets, general cotton sheets have smaller threads but are still soft and durable.
